The Digital department at INSEAD supports the school's global operations by delivering cutting-edge technological solutions that enhance teaching, research, and administrative functions. It ensures seamless integration of digital tools and infrastructure across all campuses, fostering innovation and operational efficiency.

INSEAD is seeking a Project Manager Business Intelligence to join our Digital department. This is a full-time, permanent contract position based at either our Asia Campus in Singapore or our Europe Campus in Fontainebleau. A hybrid working model is in place – 3 days on campus, 2 days from home.

About The Job

Reporting to the Senior Manager Business Intelligence, you will manage challenging BI projects to support value generation, business decision making from data that are both spread across different source systems and consolidated into DataMarts. This role is instrumental in evolving our data and reporting platform. You will interact with various stakeholders and business partners across multiple departments to deliver on their reporting requirements by collaborating with the IT teams. You will work closely with the BI Technical Lead and our ETL, QA, Data Analyst and Reporting / Visualization engineers to drive on-going BI initiatives.

Your role within the team

  • Lead the project teams throughout all phases of the Business Intelligence / Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Define and manage achievable project and resource plans in a fast moving and dynamic environment.
  • Plan, manage and keep control over key project milestones, metrics and success factors.
  • Ensure project objectives and scope (stories) are clearly defined and documented, understood by impacted stakeholders and approved by Project Sponsors.
  • Be the focal point and trusted BI reporting advisor for the stakeholder group and the first escalation point for stakeholder teams.
  • Coordinate solution analysis and design with the project team including business analysts, architects, developers and infrastructure leads.
  • Coordinate and participate in solution testing to guarantee high quality of BI solutions, ensuring compliance to validation and testing requirements, including appropriate documentation.
  • Maintain and communicate the BI roadmap, scrum stories and backlog, project status, issues and risks, and propose / present resolution and workaround options.
  • Effectively manage our internal and external communications both verbally and in writing by targeting messaging to audience and ensuring commitment to objectives.

The ideal candidate profile

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Information Systems / Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Certificate : PMP or ScrumMaster. Reporting with MS PowerBI is a plus
  • More than 5 years of Project Management or Scrum master role experience with Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing projects
  • Exposure to functional areas – Sales and marketing, Finance, HigherEd
  • Exposure working in a BI environment – reporting, ETL, data modeling
  • Experience working with Enterprise applications – Salesforce, Eloqua, PeopleSoft
  • Ability to develop reports with MS Power BI is a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Gather and document business requirements, breaking them down into well-defined user stories with clear acceptance criteria in Jira.
  • Develop and maintain project roadmaps, timelines, and deliverables in alignment with business goals.
  • Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the project steering committee, providing regular updates on project progress, risks, and challenges.
  • Effectively communicate technical concepts in business-friendly language using engaging visuals and presentations.
  • Project Team Coordination

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including daily scrums, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Motivate project team, ensuring a productive and collaborative work environment.
  • Proactively identify and remove obstacles that may impact project progress.
