At EDDC, we are dedicated to discovering and developing novel therapeutics through close collaboration with public sector and industry partners. EDDC is seeking to recruit a highly motivated Scientist in the EDDC Academic Research Organisation team. The successful candidate will participate and support inter-disciplinary drug discovery projects. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a dynamic team working on the discovery of novel therapeutics.
Principal Roles & Responsibilities :
- Develop and perform biochemical, biophysical and cellular assays such as Western blotting, biolayer interferometry, isothermal calorimetry, thermal shift assays, plate-based assays involving fluorescence or luminescence for target validation and functional characterization of small molecule therapeutics.
- Perform mammalian cell culture and downstream assays (e.g. RNA / protein expression, PCR).
- Analyze and present experimental data in a clear and concise manner, demonstrating a good understanding of its utilization and implications in the context of drug discovery.
- Support laboratory housekeeping, safety check, SOP writing and other administrative or compliance-related processes.
Requirements :
Degree or postgraduate degree in biology, biochemistry, biomedical sciences or related disciplines.Minimum 3 years of working experience.Proficient in mammalian cell culture, PCR, DNA / RNA / protein expression and extraction, gel electrophoresis, data processing and presentation.Experience in in vitro / cell-based RNA biology techniques and understanding of high throughput screening preferred.Attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks, deliver results within timelines.Good written and oral communication skills, with meticulous record-keeping.Possess strong interpersonal and collaborative spirit.We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
