About the team

The Compliance Advisory team plays an important role in upholding the firm's core values while operating in a dynamic environment. Compliance Advisory works in close partnership with 1st line (Business, Investments and Support functions) as well as 2nd and 3rd line functions to ensure that all compliance and regulatory requirements are being adhered to. The team also partners with external stakeholders such as regulators and investment associations to influence and shape the regulatory landscape.

About the role

The individual will be an integral member of SEA Compliance Advisory, working closely with fellow team members and with members from the broader General Counsel functions to provide quality compliance advice to internal stakeholders. The individual will also perform regular compliance testing to ensure our business activities in the SEA region are adhering to Group Compliance policies and local regulatory rules.

The key responsibilities are as follows :

  • Offering quality compliance and regulatory advice
  • Reviewing marketing materials and providing advice on local advertising requirements
  • Participating in new business projects / initiatives
  • Keeping track of regulatory changes, responding to industry consultation papers, and engaging with impacted stakeholders
  • Advising staff on local licensing requirements and handling licence applications
  • Conducting training on key compliance policies and local regulatory requirements
  • Liaising with Group Compliance Monitoring on thematic global / regional reviews
  • Identifying areas of improvements / enhancement, and putting forward practical and effective solutions
  • Ensuring the conduct of business complies with Group and local AML / CFT requirements

About you

  • Excellent command of English
  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability and attention to detail
  • Team player with positive attitude and good inter-personal skills
  • Preferable, but not a pre-requisite, having experience in audit, legal or compliance
  • Good understanding of Singapore regulations and their application to the fund management industry
  • Consideration will also be given to graduates with outstanding academic achievements and a strong record in co-curricular activities, reflecting their high potential and drive for excellence.
