Job Summary
The Head of Business Finance, WRB Segments would manage financial performance of global WRB segments. This will include planning, performance management, segment analytics and providing advisory to relevant stakeholders to track and improve segment performance and to achieve agreed medium and long term targets.
Responsibilities for this finance role cover managing financial performance and underlying drivers of growth for following areas within WRB :
The Head of Business Finance, WRB Segments should have thorough awareness and understanding of the WRB business strategy and be able to help execute this to specific segment context globally. This includes :
Partner with segment CFO and various segment heads in implementation of agreed strategy across marketActively report, review and analyse progress against set strategic targetAlignment of this strategy and related financial impact, execution with key country finance colleagues and business partnersBusiness
Advice stakeholders on financial performance, profitability, returns and highlighting areas of opportunity and early warnings of the challenges aheadTrack financial and non-financial performance and momentum regularlyDevelop and implement financial and non-financial value drivers and regular measurement & analysisConduct client segment deep dives to identify opportunities to improve income and returns; utilise these insights to modify or formulate new strategies with business stakeholders and finance partnersLead strategic multiyear planning process aligned with strategic prioritiesPartner with business and finance teams in markets to execute plans to improve market share including tactical and strategic actionsContribute to performance reporting and analysis for WRB Business ReviewsPeriodically review SCB performance against competitors and analyse relative strength and opportunityEffectively manage costs and lead appropriate prioritisation decisions to achieve cost efficienciesSupport business on understanding and effective appropriate usage of various financial views- Enhanced Financial view, Management view, Market view and Franchise viewProcesses
Review and ownership of flash, outlook, forecasting and monthly performance for the business in coordination with offshore support teamsSmooth and efficient corporate plan process and other internal finance processes specially forecasting alignment across region, country and Market / Financial view interlockRegular report and tracking financials and non-financial value drivers in coordination with analytics team and offshore support teamsPeople & Talent
Work effectively and collaboratively with finance / non finance colleagues within WRB group finance, country finance and offshore teamsEnsure ongoing training and self-development for both current role and future aspirations from a career growth perspectiveGuide other team members as a leader to get the optimum resultsCoordinate regular review with Risk to ensure appropriate capital deploymentReview Risk Weighted Asset (RWA) performance vis-à-vis balance sheet growth and product / client returns for the Affluent segmentRegular review, reporting and understanding of loan impairment related to lending portfoliosEnsure compliance with Group Accounting Principles and practices, Financial Control policy and other regulatory accounting guidelinesUnderstanding of various regulatory requirement (eg Basel III / IV) and implementation of the same appropriately by working with product teams in group and marketsGovernance
Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates and the regulatory requirements and expectations to the roleRepresent the WRB finance function at key WRB Business forums and escalating any issues that may impact finance responsibilitiesKey Stakeholders

10+ years relevant experience in finance at a leading global financial services firm, preferably bankingQualified Accountant i.e., CPA, CMA, ACCA or equivalent, or MBA (Finance) or other relevant qualification is preferredTrack record of business partnering and ability to influence and effectively challenge stakeholdersStrong understanding and / or previous experience in consumer banking, wealth management or SME / commercial banking is preferredProven problem solver using quantitative techniques, strong analytical skills with ability to develop proof of concept frameworks and business casesExcellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively manage varied stakeholders and global teams within finance and business.Role Specific Technical Competencies
