The VP of DEVELOPMENT will help lead the business development and sales efforts for MHR Globally. This executive will be a highly accomplished deal maker with extensive experience in business development, have a rolodex of potential clients, as well as capital sources, and have a strong ability to cultivate new business relationships. More specifically, the responsibilities will include :

Building a pipeline and having that translate into 3rd party management and or franchised opportunities.
Working with any potential programmatic capital partner or fund to acquire assets.
Identifying new management contract opportunities.
Preparing and leading presentations to prospective management contract opportunities.
Being an expert in the Company's products and where they sit within the industry.
Traveling to business development meetings, industry conferences, trade shows, etc.
Providing reporting on a pipeline of opportunities and general workflow.
Qualifying potential new business by analysing industry strategies and trends, understanding client’s business objectives, and tailoring company menu of services to drive mutual value and alignment.
Maintaining a database of contacts and business discussions.
Establishing a marketing campaign to support the sales efforts.
Sourcing and responding to RFPs.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Extrovert – ability to engage directly with clients.

Ability to build new relationships through varied means such as business entertainment.

Strong proactive sales background and track record of closing deals.

Existing hotel industry contacts, specifically hotel owners (preferred).

Understanding of hotel underwriting and fundamentals.

Knowledge of multiple hotel markets, industry trends, banks, and special services, etc.

Knowledge of key property management skills / attributes / drivers for each property type that create incremental value for owners (i.e., select service – tight expense control and revenue management, etc.).

Knowledge of management contract terms and negotiation techniques.

Polished verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to travel on a regular basis up to 75%.

Proactive, takes initiative, hands-on, roll-up your sleeves self-starter. Someone who has strong background of KPIs on closing contracts, HMAs, franchise deals etc.

Degree in business, hotel management or another related field required.

Relationships with existing Capital Partners preferred.
