Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead daily kitchen operations and ensure smooth service.
  • Plan and prepare traditional and modern Ceylonese dishes such as hoppers, string hoppers, kottu, sambols, and curries.
  • Create and update menus based on seasonality and customer preferences.
  • Train, supervise, and motivate kitchen staff.
  • Monitor inventory, control food costs, and manage supply orders.
  • Ensure all food is prepared according to hygiene and safety standards.
  • Work closely with management on menu planning, promotions, and events.

Requirements :

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as Head Chef or Executive Chef, preferably in Ceylonese or South Asian cuisine.
  • Deep knowledge of traditional Sri Lankan ingredients, spices, and cooking methods.
  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage kitchen operations and staff effectively.
  • Familiarity with kitchen budgeting, stock control, and food safety standards.
  • Flexible to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
