A multinational private bank, headquartered in Europe.

Your new role

The Finance Associate role supports the Finance function, including financial and regulatory reporting for the bank. You will report into the Finance Manager and Finance Director.

1) Financial control

  • Perform periodic financial controls and reconciliations
  • Active involvement with month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Control and processing of accounts payable, staff claims and vendors
  • Assist the FM / FD in cash management, including performing bank reconciliations
  • Assist the FM / FD in FX exposure monitoring
  • General Ledger : Prepare and post journals, accruals, complete accounting schedules and reconciliations.

2) Periodical billingPrepare and execute periodical client billing (service fees, management fees, retrocessions).3) Credit AdministrationSet up and maintain credit facilities in credit Management reporting

  • Assist in monthly management reporting and yearly budget process
  • Analyse bank performance and balance sheet movement and comment on variances

    • 5) Regulatory reportingAssist the FM / FD to prepare the periodic and ad hoc regulatory reporting for the Bank’s submission to MAS and other government Taxation and audit

  • Assist tax agent in preparing / computing annual income tax return
  • Prepare withholding tax payments and reporting to IRAS
  • Assist in quarterly GST return preparation
  • Liaise with external and internal auditors.

    • 7) Continuous improvement

  • Identify, recommend and implement measures to improve workflow / internal control processes
  • Participation in ad hoc projects as required.

    • What you'll need to succeed

    Minimum 2–3 years of relevant work experience in Finance or Audit.

    Graduate with a degree in Accountancy or Finance preferred.

    Excellent interpersonal skills.

    Open and approachable.

    Meticulous, good initiative and independent working attitude.

    Flexible, open to changes in roles and responsibilities.

    Willing to go beyond the job description.

    Prior experience with SAP accounting software and RegPro / Report Engine regulatory reporting software will be advantageous.

  • Familiar with the local regulatory environment for private banks.
