Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to join an FPSO commisioning project in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment to ensure reliable and safe operations onboard.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on all mechanical equipment, including pumps, compressors, turbines, diesel engines, valves, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ensure all mechanical systems function within required specifications and safety standards.
  • Interpret mechanical drawings, technical manuals, and schematics to identify faults and implement solutions.
  • Maintain detailed records of work performed, including daily maintenance logs and inspection reports.
  • Assist in equipment overhauls, alignment, balancing, and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure compliance with offshore safety protocols and company policies (PTW, LOTO, JSA, etc.).
  • Support production operations by ensuring mechanical integrity of rotating and static equipment.
  • Coordinate with other departments (electrical, instrumentation, production) to support integrated maintenance work.
  • Participate in safety drills, toolbox meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements :

  • Diploma or ITE Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant offshore experience on FPSOs, oil & gas platforms, or marine vessels.
  • Strong hands-on experience with mechanical systems, rotating equipment, and hydraulic / pneumatic tools.
  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Valid offshore certificates (BOSIET, HUET, Medical, etc.).
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural, multi-discipline offshore environment.

    • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Previous experience on a Singapore-based FPSO is highly desirable.
  • OEM certifications (e.g., Caterpillar, Waukesha, Sulzer, or similar) are an advantage.
  • Knowledge of FPSO process systems and mechanical interfaces with production equipment.
