Position Description
The Product Supply Planning Director is responsible for leading and overseeing all supply planning activities within the organization to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of products to meet customer demand. You are accountable for well-integrated end to end planning processes, advanced planning technology, high performing team capabilities and growth. This role involves developing strategic supply chain plans, managing inventory, coordinating with various departments, and optimizing the supply chain processes. The Product Supply Planning Director will play a crucial role in aligning supply chain activities with the company's business objectives, enhancing operational efficiency, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
A) Team inspiration and Leadership :
- Lead and inspire a diverse team across multiple geographies, fostering culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Provide overall leadership and direction for the Product Supply Planning function aligned to the overall business goals.
- Promote Global Supply Planning Team activities across the business through culture of planning excellence, accountability, high performance engagement and partnership.
- Develop team capability through effective activity planning, talent development and individual coaching using ResMed's talent development review and other support processes.
- Lead other Product Supply Planning team as needed in delegate role or other, as / when needed to ensure supply plans continue to meet demand requirements.
B) Supply Planning Strategy
Deliver long-term supply planning strategy in alignment with ResMed's strategic and financial business goals capable of supporting future product / customer supply needs.Develop a strategically relevant supply network to drive innovation and deliver sustainable value.Create competitive advantage for ResMed via the development of strategic intent partnership.Ensure customer-centric thinking with ongoing benchmarking and partner with Supply Chain Leadership Team to further shape supply chain future state and leverage best practices.C) Driving Supply Velocity :
Optimize supply chain processes to ensure efficient flow of goods from suppliers to customers.Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance supply chain performance.Oversee inventory planning and management to minimize costs while meeting service level targets.Drive supply velocity through clear strategy, engagement pathway, automation opportunities for iterative processes, optimizing resources and fostering culture of continuous improvement.Collaborate with customer supply planning teams to ensure accurate forecasting and alignment with supply plans.Direct product supply planning team in response to changes in demand or supply chain disruptions.Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable supply of materials and components. Negotiate with suppliers to improve lead times, costs, and quality.Prepare and present reports on supply chain performance to senior management.Lead continuous improvement initiatives and utilize lean principles to drive value creation for the business.Develop contingency plans with various supply chain leads to address potential supply chain disruptions.D) Change Management Proficiency : Navigate organizational change and evolution, embedding new operating models while ensuring effective team buy-in.
E) Market Navigation and Strategic Intent Partnership :
Drive collaborative connections to mitigate supply chain risks and drive alignment of decisions to meet demand supportability, and influence change within Planning and other business stakeholders to mature planning within Supply ChainWith an experimental approach, the leader will need to closely navigate through the complexities of different markets (geopolitical, regional conflict, economic etc.), to build & orchestrate experiences of varying maturities, cultures & scale. Striking the right balance of creating, supporting & directing will be key to the success of the role.Establish directionally correct Strategic Intent Partnership with your stakeholders that meet business objectives, this includes optimization time to approve alternative sourcing, provide options to gain improvement on supply (production / suppliers), communicate impact on supply due to substandard performance (from product quality through supplier performance) etc.Ensure Product Lifecycle activity (NPI and Obsolescence) and associated impact to product supply is clearly understood and planned for accordingly, in consultation with Product Lifecycle Planning Lead.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field. Advanced degree or certification (e.g., APICS CPIM) is desirable.Minimum 10 years of experience in Supply Chain Planning, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.Minimum of 5 years experience in people management.Strong knowledge and experience of Advanced Planning and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, o9) and advanced Excel skills for data analysis and modeling.Strategic mindset, with demonstrated end-to-end critical thinking.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.Ability to lead, motivate and inspire a team to deliver business goals.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven experience in leading cross-functional collaborations with key stakeholders.High degree of accountability and a track record of delivery excellence
