At Halogen, our goal is to help young people develop positive belief systems and values so they can take action in their circles of influence. As an end-to-end youth development hub, we aim to build foundational character, mindsets, and skill sets in young people by providing equal access to leadership programmes and initiatives. This experience is also created for our staff. As a youth development organisation, we work with the vibrant energy of our stakeholders and students, ensuring that while we catalyse social impact through our young people, we also foster a staff team enabled to do their best work.

As Head of Product, you will be responsible for defining and executing the overarching product vision and strategy, leading the design and development of innovative programmes, learning aids, and other offerings tailored to youth development at Halogen. You will champion a culture of continuous improvement and impact measurement, guiding the Product team and collaborating across departments to ensure our products meet the evolving needs of young people. You will report to the Chief Executive Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Keep abreast of emerging learning and development tools, products, and offerings; conduct research to analyze industry trends.
  • Work with the CEO to conceptualize and design a diverse portfolio of new products, including programmes, merchandise, learning aids, and games aligned with Halogen's mission to empower youth.
  • Collaborate with the CEO to integrate impact measurement and reporting frameworks, aligning with organisational goals of research and thought leadership.
  • Spearhead research, development, and innovation initiatives within the Product team to create the identified offerings.
  • Evaluate curriculum effectiveness and recommend enhancements across the organisation’s products and services.
  • Manage and develop Product team members.
  • Foster collaboration between the Product team and internal departments to ensure seamless product lifecycle management from conceptualization to delivery.
  • Deliver training programmes and represent Halogen’s pedagogical standards in stakeholder engagements.

A typical week at work involves

  • Aligning product portfolio and youth programmes with the organisation’s strategic goals through collaboration with the CEO and managers.
  • Leading team meetings and strategy sessions to drive product development and organisational alignment.
  • Designing and writing new programme content and conceptualizing innovative product ideas.
  • Researching academic theories and assessing programme efficacy and impact.
  • Collaborating with business development and ground training teams on outreach and programme execution.
  • Managing and mentoring the Product team for research, development, and professional growth.
  • What You’ll Achieve

  • Within the first month, establish a comprehensive understanding of Halogen’s mission, existing products, and strategic position; build relationships with key stakeholders; analyze the current product landscape for innovation opportunities.
  • Within six months, develop product portfolio recommendations; initiate new programme development; improve inter-departmental workflows.
  • Within the first year, shape the product roadmap and innovation strategy; be recognized as a strategic partner with deep industry understanding; demonstrate measurable impact or reach of the product portfolio.
  • Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience managing partnerships, events, and programmes, with regional ASEAN experience preferred.
  • Track record in youth work, as a student or otherwise.
  • Energetic, dynamic, and capable of engaging diverse youth and stakeholders locally and regionally.
  • Excellent interpersonal, coordination, and communication skills adaptable across stakeholder levels.
  • Meticulous, detail-oriented, with good relationship management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic, data-driven decision-making skills.
