Job Description

  • Plan and oversee vessel's preparation for intended cargo for the planned voyage in respect of tanks / compartment, passage-planning route, weather,consumables, manning, port specific information, etc.;
  • Monitoring safe-navigation, seaworthiness certification on voyage and day-to-day deck operation and advise to each vessel in the fleet, as required;
  • Liaise with Masters, port agents, and other stakeholders on operational matters, provide clear and timely communication to all parties involved;
  • Review reports incoming from vessels in the fleet on daily / monthly basis, respond to them with necessary actions- including issuance of circulars;
  • Review of risk-assessment, meeting reports and any request for the PTW on daily basis, as requested by vessel including liaise with relevant authority;
  • Co-ordinate with Operations / Crewing team for maintaining safe manning levels onboard for the intended voyage and appraise performances;
  • Overview safe operation of vessel's cargo load / discharge, tank cleaning, inspection by shore / terminal and provide proactive guidance;
  • Monitor SIRE / CDI / RightShip inspection validity, prepare vessel in advance, arrange inspection and provide response for vetting / approval in time;
  • Keep vessel prepared for PSC / FSC / external inspection at all times in any port, guide / train shipboard staff on dealing with different authorities;
  • Review rest-hour records, drill-performance, SCM, NMR, Incident, TBM, SMS review, training reports oncoming from ships as per QHSE reporting;
  • Arrange external audit for SMC, ISSC, MLC certification and conduct internal audits on behalf of company, ensure follow-up actions completed in time;
  • Training to shipboard staff for operational safety, occupational health, quality services, environmental protection and behaviour-based practices;
  • Monitoring performances of deck officers and keep tracking on the scope of promotion after evaluation of professional / personal competency;
  • Inspection and monitor the condition of vessels structural, cosmetic and equipment, identifying potential problems and recommending rectifications;
  • Travel to ships owned by group shipping for compliance verification, cargo superintendency and necessary marine operational guidance- when needed;
  • Stay informed and professionally updated about changes the in international maritime regulations and ensure compliance / implemented through SMS
