Reporting to the Senior Management for ANL Lines, the Head of Business Development will be responsible for the development and management of new business opportunities for ANL Lines and driving marketing intelligence reporting and tool update.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Opportunity Analysis : Identify, evaluate, and develop commercial and financial opportunities supporting ANL’s growth strategy
  • Executive-Level Collaboration : Provide strategic insights and modelling for ANL Line Managers and Senior Stakeholders
  • Competitor & Market Intelligence : Lead competitive analysis activities and formulate strategic recommendations to strengthen market presence in Oceania
  • Project Leadership : Manage end-to-end shipping activity studies, from early identification to operational handover, in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Business Planning & Financial Analysis : Support Group directives including service launches, vessel chartering decisions, and investment evaluations
  • Stakeholder Coordination : Consolidate inputs from commercial, operations, finance, and regional teams to enable high-impact business decisions
  • Team Leadership & Performance : Establish KPIs, mentor staff, recommend training, and lead regular reporting meetings to ensure high standards across teams

Requirements

  • At least 5-7 yrs within the shipping industry coupled with sales and marketing experience
  • Computer literacy in a range of software applications
  • Strong knowledge of relevant industry products and services
  • Keen commercial and financial awareness
  • Interest in emerging industry developments and technology
  • Proven ability to manage complex business relationships covering a wide range of issues
  • Knowledge and practical experience in Australian shipping industry with strong emphasis on understanding economic trends
  • The ability to influence, defend, negotiate and broker highly complex issues in a range of forum
  • Demonstrated skills in managing people to achieve results
  • This role is opened for local employment only.
