Company Description

WRKS Games is an independent developer and publisher of games. We are one of those few elusive entities in gaming that is self-financing, founder-owned, and sustainable. Started in 2017 in London with a USD 650k investment from the founder, we have gradually and slowly tested our way to our definition of success in the hugely changing landscape of the game industry.

We are now profitable, headquartered in Singapore, and in a growth phase, expecting to hit our first million in profit this year. We have just hired our first 7 people in Singapore and are preparing to scale to 100 within 5 years and about to setup an office here in Singapore.

This job is ONLY for a person who is a Singapore permanent resident or a citizen.

Compensation

This is a full-time role that will begin with a probationary period. All our roles are tested regardless of seniority. During the probationary period, the compensation will be set at 50% the advertised full-time rate and paid in a day rate-based model until the 90-day probationary period is concluded and will then move immediately to the full-time rate.

Probationary Period : SGD 300 / day

Full-time rate : SGD 9000 / month + profit share + equity package

Role Description

The Chief Operating Officer will be part of the management team and report directly to the CEO. All other reports will report into the COO position. Our management team is still under construction still and not all roles are recruited.

This role is operationally responsible for the Singapore office and our future international offices and is the senior-most decision-making and accountability role for the execution of the business.

Qualifications

• 20+ years in the game industry or content industry (movies, TV etc)
• Analytical Skills
• Excellent management and people management skills with a history of starting up teams from zero and building them to 100+ person sizes
• Experience in office selection, setup, and oversight
• This is a management role; however, a background in hands-on operational management in your work history is a requirement
• Excellent communication skills in English and preferably one other Asian language
• Ability to work independently and remotely as well as in an office
• Very strong existing contact network in the gaming and media industry a strong plus
• Master's Degree in Business or Gaming-related field desirable, an MBA a strong plus
