The Governance and Projects Manager will play a critical role in supporting the COO office's operations by managing and coordinating key governance frameworks and projects across Asia. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and locations.

Your role

Governance and Business Management Support

  • Administer and support governance frameworks such as Outsourcing, Business Continuity Management (“BCM”) and Data Privacy. This includes supporting and acting as coordinator in governance activities of these frameworks such as Outsourcing coordination and monitoring, Outsourcing register submission, Annual BCM process including Business Impact Assessment reviews.
  • Administrative support of branch activities under COO responsibility including governance forums like Operating Committee, regulatory and audit reviews & actions etc.
  • Assist with the investigation, follow up actions, reporting to authorities and closure of any Data Breach incidents, assist with PDPA governance as required
  • Track and assist with the closure of actions arising from various committees, Audits and Risk reviews for the COO Function
  • Work closely with Asia teams to ensure the effective administration of governance frameworks
  • Establish close ties with corresponding teams in Group to ensure alignment with Group Policies and Procedures
  • Resolve general, cross functional and organizational issues that may arise from time to time in close coordination & collaboration with the COO and the other Functional Heads, Senior Management
  • Perform data collection, analysis for various needs - data analysis, MIS, Internal and External Audit requests etc

Projects and Initiatives

  • Provide project and change management capability in Asia and support regional (SG & HK) implementation of IT change requests and projects in Asia
  • Work closely with cross-functional team members to clarify each project objectives, formulate the business case and defining the business requirements as applicable
  • Work closely with the process owner and Group IT to formulate and review solution options
  • Support and facilitate timely communication between the key business and technical participants in the project
  • Coordinate and provide testing support to all relevant stakeholders
  • Maintain a centralized database of the list of projects impacting Asia (across both Business and COO Functions) with detailed project timeline as well as the list of issues, risk and mitigation plans of each project
  • Monitor each project’s progress against the defined schedule, identify and escalate any potential issues or risks
  • Providing timely status reports to the relevant stakeholders, Committees and Senior Management
  • Lead and / or support new product, process or service initiatives in a project co-ordination / management capacity in close collaboration with the applicable functions / depts.
  • Assist the teams in their process re-engineering efforts and contribute towards overall efficiency improvements
  • Your profile

  • Rigorous, analytical, and independent operator with a curious mindset, able to switch from one subject area to another very quickly and operate in a versatile manner.
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of wealth management industry including applicable regulations in SG & HK.
  • Knowledge of outsourcing, Business Continuity Management and / Data Protection required
  • Knowledge of Avaloq would be an advantage
  • General knowledge of various Regulatory requirements applicable to MAS and HKMA
  • Independent, driven self-starter, solution & result oriented, able to facilitate discussions and collaboration across diverse teams in different locations
  • Hands-on attitude, able to juggle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Proactive in tackling tasks or matters
  • Strong influencing and collaborative skills to get jobs done
  • Team player, able and willing to share and continuously contribute to the team’s success
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to communicate across organizational levels
  • 10 years’ experience in a similar position in the private banking industry
  • University level qualifications in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field
  • Good understanding of wealth mgmt. business and related regulations under MAS & HKMA
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and governance frameworks
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across functions and locations.
  • Strong track record of execution and results delivery within agreed deadlines
  • Self-starter with good organization skills and stakeholder management capabilities
