Key Responsibilities

Chartering Strategy Development : Analyze market trends, assess business opportunities, and develop comprehensive chartering strategies to optimize vessel utilization and maximize profitability.
Contract Negotiation : Skillfully negotiate charter contracts, including fixture terms, freight rates, and laytime provisions, to secure favorable agreements for the company.
Vessel Sourcing and Allocation : Identify suitable vessels for chartering, evaluate vessel specifications and availability, and allocate vessels to meet client requirements and operational needs.
Client Relationship Management : Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, understand their shipping needs, and provide customized solutions to enhance customer satisfaction.
Market Monitoring : Stay abreast of market developments, including freight rates, vessel supply and demand, and regulatory changes, and provide timely market intelligence to support decision - making.
Risk Management : Identify and assess chartering risks, develop risk mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Qualifications and Skills

Education : A bachelor's degree in maritime studies, logistics, business administration, or a related field. A master's degree will be an added advantage.

Experience : Minimum of 5 years of experience in sea transport chartering, with at least 3 years in a managerial role. Experience in the relevant shipping segment is highly desirable.

Industry Knowledge : In - depth knowledge of the sea transport industry, including chartering practices, freight markets, vessel operations, and regulatory requirements.

Negotiation Skills : Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to secure favorable charter terms and build strong relationships with stakeholders.

Problem - Solving Skills : Strong analytical and problem - solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast - paced and dynamic environment.

Communication Skills : Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

Computer Skills : Proficiency in using relevant software applications, such as chartering management systems, spreadsheet software, and email.
