Position Title : Commercial Counsel, APAC

Location : Singapore

Your Role :

The Commercial Counsel for the APAC region will be responsible for overseeing commercial legal matters in this area. This role is an integral part of the Company's APAC legal team and will be based in our Singapore office. You will report directly to the Senior Director, Legal (APAC) who is based in Singapore.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide comprehensive legal support to the Company's APAC region, including but not limited to preparing, reviewing, and negotiating commercial sales contracts, orders and master agreements, drafting customer facing notification letters and notification, review and negotiation of standard form agreements such as NDAs, handling of ancillary administrative matters in relation to our properties and operations in APAC.
  • Work closely with various stakeholders within the Company, including other cross-functional members of the APAC team and global business and legal teams.
  • Support the continuous improvement of standard forms and contribute to the development and enhancement of policies and procedures within the Legal Department.
  • Handle and prioritize time-sensitive projects in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Provide legal training on commercial related issues to relevant internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and a proactive attitude to take initiative and drive projects forward.
  • Exhibit excellence in legal skills, business judgment, strategic thinking and contract drafting.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.

Requirements :

  • Law degree from an accredited university and admission to the bar.
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in a reputable law firm or corporate legal department, with a focus on drafting and negotiating commercial sales contracts and master agreements.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of contract law, commercial transactions, and relevant legal frameworks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Detail-oriented and strong analytical skills, with the ability to spot potential legal risks and provide effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in legal research and the use of legal databases and resources.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize time-sensitive projects in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and proactive approach to work.
  • Demonstrated excellence in legal skills, business judgment, and strategic thinking.
  • Meticulous with attention to detail.
