Roles & Responsibilities
1. Customer Service
- Greeting guests warmly upon arrival and escorting them to their tables.
- Presenting menus, explaining specials, and answering questions about the menu items.
- Taking accurate food and drink orders and relaying them to the kitchen or bar staff.
2. Order Handling
Delivering food and beverages promptly to customers’ tables.Ensuring orders are accurate and presented according to the establishment’s standards.Handling special requests or dietary restrictions with care and attention.3. Maintaining the Dining Area
Setting up tables with proper cutlery, glassware, and napkins before service.Clearing and cleaning tables promptly after customers leave.Ensuring the dining area is clean, organized, and inviting at all times.4. Payment Processing
Presenting the bill to customers and processing payments accurately.Handling cash, credit card, and other forms of payment efficiently.Returning change and providing receipts with a professional demeanor.5. Collaboration with Team Members
Working closely with kitchen staff to ensure orders are prepared and delivered correctly.Assisting other servers or team members during busy periods.Communicating with the host / hostess, bartender, or management to ensure smooth operations.6. Handling Customer Feedback
Addressing customer complaints or concerns politely and effectively.Reporting unresolved issues or significant concerns to the supervisor or manager.Taking note of customer preferences to enhance future visits.7. Knowledge of Menu and Promotions
Being familiar with the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens.Informing customers of daily specials, promotions, or new menu items.Upselling food and beverages, such as suggesting desserts or pairing drinks with meals.8. Adhering to Safety and Hygiene Standards
Following food safety regulations when handling food and drinks.Ensuring proper hygiene by washing hands regularly and wearing a clean uniform.Reporting any safety hazards or broken equipment to the manager.9. Multitasking and Time Management
Managing multiple tables simultaneously while ensuring timely service.Prioritizing tasks based on customer needs and service flow.Staying organized during peak hours to avoid delays.10. Additional Responsibilities
