The Workplace Safety Health & Environment (WSHE) Manager is responsible to ensure the project sites complies with health and safety laws by establishing and reviewing policies and processes to create and maintain a safe workplace and culture.
A summary of the responsibilities of this position are, and not limited to, as follows :
- Monitor and review the Company's WSHE management system and procedures, and to ensure procedures are updated and in compliance with the latest Codes of Practice and government legislation.
- WSHE expert in advising the management on all WSHE matters pertaining to authority procedures on civil sites.
- Provide and present regular reports to the management on the performance of the Company's WSHE management system.
- Ensure all relevant stakeholders, from Site Managers to workers, attend the relevant WSHE courses as required by law and the Company.
- Ensure proper documentation and records keeping of all WSHE training, accident reports and safety correspondences with respective authority.
- Conduct periodic WSHE site inspections to ensure site compliance with WSHE programmes and procedures.
- Ensure external & internal audits are conducted on all project sites as per authority requirements.
- Be prepared to stop work or to notify the Project Manager in the event of any WSHE deviations.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Education : Higher WSH-related qualifications other than WSHO required training preferred.Experience : Minimum of 10 years of post-registration and practical experience in the Construction industry with at least team management experiencePrefer individuals with a track record in handling complex, large-scale or mega projects.Registered WSHO with Ministry of Manpower and register ECO with National Environmental Agency.
