Job description

Responsibilities

  • Lead Sustainable Finance Origination and Execution : Structure and execute innovative sustainable finance solutions, including labelled financing, green bonds, sustainability-linked loans, and other emerging instruments. Navigateplex taxonomies and regulatory landscapes while maintaining a strong risk lens, incorporating ESG and reputational risk considerations. Leverage internal sector guides and policies to tailor solutions to specific client needs within hard-to-abate industries.
  • Be a Sustainable Business Enabler : Stay ahead of industry best practices, market trends, and investor appetite within sustainable finance, specifically focusing on hard-to-abate sectors. Share these insights with internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and driving the development of cutting-edge solutions. Cultivate deep relationships with clients and internal partners (Industry Partners, Capital Markets, GTS) to maximize strategic impact and secure market share.
  • Drive Rigorous Analysis and Reporting : Maintain a robust deal pipeline, providing regular updates to leadership on transaction progress andmercials. Prepare insightful industry analyses, client presentations, and engagement tracking reports, demonstrating a data-driven approach to sustainable finance. Contribute to internal presentations and thought leadership pieces, showcasing DBS's expertise in the field.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of proven leadership track record in Sustainable Finance
  • Bachelor's or advanced degrees in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering are preferred
  • Strong record and experience of structuring labelled financing and SF frameworks
  • Robust understanding of labelled Bond and Loan principles and taxonomies
  • Experience working in financial institutions and / or having in-depth environmental and social due diligence experience are preferred
  • Strong exposure to 'hard to abate' sectors and relevant clients - ability to carry out ESG due diligence on high-impact transactions in line with best practices, such as the Equator Principles and IFC Performance Standards;
  • Robust understanding of labelled Bond and Loan principles, taxonomies, net-zero / decarbonization pathways
  • Experience working in financial institutions and / or having in-depth environmental and social due diligence experience are preferred.
  • Possess professional and interpersonal skills to establish good rapport and working relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and due diligence mindset.
