Our client is an innovative biotech startup based in Hong Kong, focused on cutting-edge research and technology in the fields of therapeutics, diagnostics, and health innovation. As the company enters a new phase of growth, they are seeking a strategic and hands-on Head of Talent Acquisition to scale their team and build a world-class talent engine. The Head of Talent Acquisition will lead the full recruitment lifecycle and strategy for the organization, including executive search, R&D hiring, and commercial functions.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design and execute a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy aligned with the company’s rapid growth goals.
  • Lead and manage all recruitment activities across R&D, regulatory, clinical, operations, commercial, and G&A functions.
  • Build strong relationships with senior leadership to proactively plan workforce needs and talent mapping.
  • Develop and maintain diverse candidate pipelines through direct sourcing, partnerships, and brand outreach.
  • Oversee the implementation and optimization of applicant tracking systems and hiring processes.
  • Create and drive employer branding initiatives specific to the biotech sector and startup environment.
  • Track and report on recruiting metrics (time-to-hire, cost-per-hire, offer acceptance rate, etc.) to ensure data-driven decisions.
  • Manage recruitment vendors, agencies, and scientific recruitment consultants as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws and ethical recruitment practices.
  • Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Life Sciences or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of talent acquisition experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Prior experience recruiting in the biotech, life sciences, or pharmaceutical industries is essential.
  • Strong track record in scaling teams in a fast-growth startup or innovation-driven environment.
  • Deep understanding of scientific and technical roles (e.g., molecular biology, clinical development, regulatory affairs).
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and project management skills.
  • Fluent in English; Cantonese and / or Mandarin is a plus.
