What does the job consist?
The Technical Engineer serves as the internal technical reference within the company for a specific technology, a range of processes, or another specialised technical area. Internally, they provide knowledge and support to all stakeholders requiring their expertise, coordinate development and improvement initiatives, and define the company's medium- and long-term technological roadmap. Externally, they act as the primary technical point of contact for suppliers and / or partners with whom they lead continuous improvement projects. Within their field, they conduct comprehensive technological monitoring, covering industrial, scientific, and competitive aspects.
- Provide support to all stakeholders within the company on issues related to their area of expertise : history, operation, implementation, control, and relevance to expressed needs.
- Lead the evaluation, development, and integration of new technological components in their specialty within the company.
- Act as the preferred technical interface with partners, suppliers, equipment manufacturers, and research institutes.
- Manage joint development and continuous improvement programmes with external stakeholders within their area of expertise.
- Recommend relevant technological directions and developments.
- Conduct continuous monitoring of their field of expertise : including suppliers, partners, competitors, and scientific advances to maintain state-of-the-art knowledge.
- Archive and consolidate knowledge within their domain, ensuring it is made available to the company in a simple, relevant, and efficient manner.
- Safeguard the company's intellectual property (IP) in their field through competitive intelligence and protection strategies.
- Develop and maintain a five-year technology development roadmap in their domain.
- Present this roadmap and the associated strategic vision to Innovation and Executive Committee (COMEX) levels to support strategic decision-making.
- Influence suppliers to co-develop the equipment and technologies needed by the company in the next five to ten years.
- Support clients when specialised technical expertise is required.
- Identify research topics and the means necessary to ensure long-term mastery and reliability of the technology (BML).
- Develop cross-functional mentoring activity to coordinate the company's efforts around their specialty across Manufacturing, Innovation, and Business Units.
- Define future development needs of the technical expertise activity in terms of skills, training, and staffing.
- Build a comprehensive IP strategy, both defensive and offensive.
- Grow the research and development ecosystem in their area of expertise.

Educational Qualifications
Master's degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., materials physics, semiconductor physics) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role or in innovation within an industrial setting.PhD in a scientific field (e.g., materials physics, semiconductor physics) is desirable.Technical / Job Knowledge
