About the role
McConnell Dowell is seeking a contract staff for the Procurement Executive in Singapore for a civil infrastructure project in the west.
- Key responsibilities of the role include;
- Select reliable sources of supply and supervise purchasing of major items / services.
- Control price and quality of goods / services procured and ensure timely delivery of such goods / services.
- Assess and advise on the Commercial risks and opportunities identified during the procurement process.
- Manage and promote the Business Unit Training of goods / services procurement and ensure the Business Unit’s training activities are planned to meet current and future organization and employee needs.
- Assist in the management of project procurement, preparing supplier, subcontractor, and consultant contract forms, ensuring appropriate forms and commercial terms are duly incorporated, and provide advice accordingly.
- Establish and approve sources of materials both locally and overseas.
- Assist Project teams in procurement on an as-needed basis. This will include initiating Requests for Quotations, evaluating and negotiating contracts, and executing deliveries / services.
- Ensure the maintenance and continual improvement of procurement procedures.
- Maintain the Business Unit Register of suppliers and subcontractors.
- Liaise and coordinate with project and site managers to provide day-to-day assistance and advice as required.
- Participate in internal audits in consultation with the QSE Manager, and the Commercial Manager.
- Establish and assist in the maintenance of “Term” Contracts.
- Maintenance of an effective project material management system.
- Prepares and issues reports as required.
- Ensures that procurement activities are carried out in the most cost-effective manner.
- Any other duties as may be required by the Company.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will have
A relevant tertiary qualification is preferred but not essential.Minimum of 5 years of experience in local procurement for the construction industry.Demonstrated ability to analyze procurement issues and provide solutions through appropriate problem-solving techniques.Sound commercial acumen accompanied by proven negotiation and interpersonal skills.Competent in the use of procurement software.Able to work on alternate Saturdays.If you are interested in adding value and contributing success to building a key infrastructure project, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity with McConnell Dowell.
