We are seeking a highly skilled Robot Navigation Engineer to join our Robotics Intelligence team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing indoor / outdoor navigation capabilities for our robotic systems, with a focus on 2D / 3D map generation and localization, modularization, and system integration. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing the navigation capabilities of our robots, ensuring smooth and efficient operation in diverse environments.
Job Responsibilities
- Work within a cross-functional team of robotics scientists and engineers to develop next- generation autonomous mobile robots (AMR)
- Design, develop, prototype, integrate and test advanced robotic mechatronic system and sub-system (sensing, manipulation, control, human-interaction, etc...)
- AMR setup, integration, programming and testing using different brands of mobile robots and mobile manipulators, including proprietary robots
- Providing hands-on on-site support for mechatronic system development, integration, testing and troubleshooting of AMR platforms
- Translate new technology and research outputs into modular and re-useable mechatronic sub-systems to be integrated into various AMR platforms
- Design of experiments to benchmark system performance by adopting in-house and / or industrial test methodology
- Troubleshooting of robotic system / subsystem / module using development tools, specialized equipment and standard lab equipment
- Adopting latest standards and / or methodology to work (standards, open source, common platform)
Job Requirements
Degree / Masters in Mechatronics or Electronics Engineering or equivalent4-6 years of relevant experience in mechatronic system design, development, and integrationPassionate in robotic manipulation, sensing / perception and control system design, prototyping and practical problem-solving; with hands-on experience with robotics system / hardwareProficient in mechatronics CAD design tools such as Solidworks, CREO or similarBalanced skills with proficienct in mechanical design, basic electrical circuitry and microcontroller programming.Hands on experience in commissioning of industrial robots / mobile robots / mobile manipulatorExperience with design and development of mobile robots or mobile manipulator will be a plusMust be result-orientated, independent and a self-driven team playerStrong in written and verbal communication in English
