Job description

Product Pricing department plays a critical role in ensuring the financial soundness, competitiveness and marketability of products developed. This position will report to pricing Director or Pricing Offer. This position guide a few team members and manage product pricing related work / projects independently.

This position in het team is accountable for the development of new products or the repricing of existing products meeting marketing, profitability, and risk management goals. This position is also accountable for the timely delivery of product development related projects assigned.

Position Responsibilities :

  • Guiding and being a part of pricing team to develop innovative new products meeting marketing, profitability, and risk management goals.
  • Directly leading key product initiatives with medium to high complexities.
  • Joining cross-functional product development teams that also include representatives from marketing, systems, illustrations, legal, and contracts, to represent Pricing's interests and concerns. Independent stakeholder management in both working level and team lead level.
  • Developing enhanced pricing techniques to reflect emerging issues such as guarantee costing, in force portfolio leveraging, and others.
  • Working closely with Product Managers and Distribution on product design objectives that meet the needs of our customers in multiple distribution channels.
  • Presenting product financial results and explain key challenges and constraints at each step of the process to key stakeholders, including technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborating with Sales and Marketing, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Risk Management teams in pricing projects.
  • Independently negotiating reinsurance terms, which can affect the pricing and risk management of insurance products.
  • Leading product approval negotiation with Corporate / Regional and Regulator.
  • Leading in the annual planning and budgeting cycle.

Required Qualifications :

  • Good progress in actuarial exams, qualified or nearly qualified in a globally recognized actuarial association.
  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability combined with very strong technical actuarial skills.
  • Risk management focus, with ability to see beyond traditional measures and identify emerging issues.
  • Ability to respond to changing demands from multiple stakeholders and prioritize needs and results while working under deadline pressure
  • Knowledge of IFRS and statutory reporting including earnings emergence, and capital, as well as the various profit metrics used in pricing.
  • Experience with individual life insurance (product development or valuation) is an asset
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
