The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is responsible for the overall technology strategy and implementation at Auto & General Singapore (AGS). We are seeking a visionary and strategic senior executive to lead the technology agenda through a critical business growth phase.
The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that AGS’s IT infrastructure, applications, and services support and
enhance the company’s business operations, objectives, and strategic goals.
The CTO has proven experience steering technology functions through large-scale transformation and will bridge the gap between business and technology, providing leadership and direction to ensure technological resources align with business needs.
Key Responsibilities :
- Champion technology priorities that align with AGS’s strategy, focusing on optimising employee engagement, enhancing customer experiences, and achieving cost efficiency.
- Manage and balance both strategic and operational priorities to ensure cohesive and effective technology leadership.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the Technology department, emphasizing the growth and advancement of team members.
- Develop and implement metrics to track and measure progress on priorities, ensuring alignment with the overarching business strategy.
- Identify, assess, and manage risks and opportunities within the technology landscape to drive strategic and operational success.
- Lead the Technology team in providing both strategic and operational support that meets and exceeds business requirements.
- Define and implement initiatives aimed at enhancing processes and improving the overall employee experience within AGS.
- Challenge existing practices by introducing innovative technologies and transforming processes to achieve superior performance and enhanced capabilities.
- Contribute to the broader strategic direction and AGS culture, ensuring technology initiatives support and drive company-wide objectives.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
Provide visionary and strategic leadership to the Technology team, ensuring that the ITstrategy aligns with and supports AGS’s overall business objectives whilst overseeing the day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient and reliable IT service delivery.Ensure that all IT services and solutions meet the strategic business requirements of AGS,delivering high-quality, cost effective, and innovative technology solutions.Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the Technology division,providing mentorship and development opportunities to staff.Effectively manage risk across the Technology function to maintain an "always on" environment while meeting cost, security standards and regulatory requirements.Implement and oversee robust risk management strategies within the Technology function to safeguard AGS’s IT infrastructure and data.Continuously monitor and assess potential risks, implementing proactive measures to mitigate threats before they impact operations.Oversee supplier relationships, developing new commercial partnerships to leverage the growing scale of our businesses, aligning behaviours and culture with our core service proposition to ensure a seamless customer journey.Mentor and guide a high-performing team to enhance project and change management processes, ensuring efficiency, timely delivery, high-quality outcomes, and alignment with strategic goals.Demonstrate a leadership approach that balances achieving outcomes with fostering a culture of ownership, continuous improvement and supporting the company’s values, capabilities, and strategic goals.Act with high integrity and accountability in fulfilling senior executive responsibilities, in line with the regulatory standards and best practices within the Singapore insurance industryQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree : In Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.Advanced Degree : MBA, Masters in Information Systems, or a related advanced degree is often preferred.Certifications : Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Project Management Professional (PMP), or other relevant credentials.Experience :
Extensive experience in a senior technology leadership role, ideally with at least 10 years in progressively responsible positions.Proven track record of managing and leading a technology division, where you can clearly demonstrate your proven ability to successfully manage change and build highly engaged, diverse teams.Strong technical foundation with previous hands-on experience as a technology architect, able to make strategic decisions grounded in deep architectural understanding.Experience in a regulated industry, will be valuable in navigating compliance and governance complexities of the role.Experience in developing and executing IT strategies that align with business goals and drive organisational growth.Demonstrated ability to oversee and deliver large-scale technology projects on time and within budget.Experience in implementing and managing complex technology systems and infrastructure. This would include extensive knowledge of delivering services and products through traditional customer service channels, as well as digital and omni-channel strategies.Proficient in managing IT budgets and resources effectively to ensure cost efficiency and alignment with business needs.Experience in identifying, assessing, and mitigating technology-related risks and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.Proven ability to lead and manage change initiatives, including introducing new technologies and processes.Experience in driving technological innovation and integrating emerging technologies to enhance business performance.Experience in managing relationships with technology vendors and service providers to ensure high-quality and cost-effective solutions.J-18808-Ljbffr
