The role of accountants is set to evolve as digital transformation and concepts of sustainability begin to take centre stage across all industries.

The Graduate Accountant-Advisor Programme (GAAP) is a career programme by RSM Singapore to transform accountancy graduates with high potential into multi-skilled, highly trained and professionally qualified business advisors that can navigate the complex business environment and deliver impactful outcomes to our clients.

As part of GAAP, you will be rotated among various job functions, ranging from financial audits, tax, IT audits, data science and environmental, social and governance (ESG) projects. You will be mentored by expert professionals in the field to become a young leader with multi-disciplinary skill sets, able to tackle the challenges of the future. You will also be given full support to obtain the Singapore Chartered Accountant Qualifications (SCAQ) or Accredited Tax Practitioner (ATP), as well as other relevant qualifications, where applicable.

Specialisations

After completion of 2 to 3 years with the programme, you will have the option to specialise in one or more of the following areas :

1) Financial Audit or Tax

Perform assurance engagement in compliance with professional standards

Provide specialist tax services and advisory to clients.

Utilise data analytics tools to gather and analyse data.

2) Data Science

Identify opportunities to design and develop data analytics procedures that support internal and external needs.

Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of clients’ data to generate actionable insights.

Conceptualise and develop data analytics or technology-related content to raise awareness of their benefits.

3) ESG

Conduct research and perform professional analysis of the needs and issues of the client through interviews and workshops to translate their requirements into well-formulated solutions.

Present findings and recommendations to clients.

Support ESG technology and advisory projects.

4) IT Audit

Evaluate the design and effectiveness of IT controls and IT governance practices supporting the client’s business.

Identify areas for improvements in business processes to better manage business risks.

Articulate and discuss control issues / gaps and corrective action plans with stakeholders.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Degree in accountancy (local or overseas)

Demonstrated experience in analytics and / or ESG will be a plus

Technically competent, technology-savvy, energetic, and culturally adaptable

Good interpersonal communication, report writing, and presentation skills

Versatile, motivated, and thrives in a fast-paced environment
