Head of Quality Engineering – Vietnam

We are seeking a visionary Head of Quality Engineering to lead and uplift the quality engineering practice across our global digital delivery footprint. Based in Vietnam, this executive role provides strategic direction and leadership to a team of over 500 quality engineers and testers, responsible for software testing across multiple domains and geographies.

THE ROLE :

You will play a critical role in transforming testing culture and capability, delivering a modern, scalable, and integrated Quality Enterprise function that supports complex technology landscapes and cross-functional enterprise solutions. This role is instrumental in delivering a $10M+ change portfolio and shaping our engineering agenda by championing technical excellence, consistency, and delivery outcomes that matter.

Key Responsibilities :

Lead a large-scale, high-performing QE function of 500+ engineers and testers across Vietnam, with 30+ direct reports, ensuring exceptional delivery across global software programs.
Define and drive the quality engineering strategy and roadmap, aligning with broader engineering and business goals to uplift capability and maturity.
Champion a cultural shift in testing practice, adopting modern engineering techniques, embedding automation-first thinking, and instilling a quality-first mindset across all delivery teams.
Oversee a complex $10M+ change portfolio, ensuring teams are resourced and structured to meet evolving enterprise needs.
Promote diversity, inclusion, and high-performance culture and acting as a role model and building an engaged and motivated team.
Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders including Innovation Executives, Heads of Engineering, and Technology Delivery Leaders to align quality strategy with product and technology goals.
Make informed, commercial decisions that balance cost, performance, and long-term value.
Ensure robust vendor governance, managing relationships with strategic QE partners across all delivery locations.
Lead the evaluation and adoption of best-in-class testing tools and frameworks, in partnership with global technology leaders.
Drive test capability improvements in test automation, test data management, environment provisioning, and CI / CD pipelines.
Partner with infrastructure and platform leaders to ensure test environments and test data are accessible, reliable, and aligned to delivery demands.
Establish quality engineering as a respected and trusted partner across the enterprise by embedding consistent practices and advocating for quality as a shared responsibility.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE :

Extensive experience in leading large, distributed engineering teams across Asia-Pacific (especially in Vietnam, India, and Australia).

Demonstrated capability in executive leadership, strategic planning, and enterprise-wide technology delivery.

Deep technical expertise in modern QE practices, including automation, performance, security testing, and continuous quality.

Ability to navigate large-scale change, uplifting capability and transitioning to new ways of working in Agile, DevOps, and hybrid environments.

Strong background in team building and leadership coaching, with a proven ability to develop and scale technical leadership capability.

Expertise in building cross-functional alignment and engaging with senior-level stakeholders to influence direction and strategy.

Track record of optimising global delivery models, managing internal teams and external vendors to meet complex demands.

Strong commercial mindset, with experience in budget management, cost optimisation, and vendor negotiations.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to drive engagement and alignment across business and technology.
