Lead Product Designer

Roles & Responsibilities

The Lead Product Designer is responsible for driving the UX / UI practice and continuous

improvement and implementation of the user experience across all of Axi's digital product.

The Lead Product Designer will be responsible for delivering intuitive and user-centred design

solutions to complex customer problems across the whole customer journey. You will plan,

design and deliver engaging digital product experiences that are easy to use across all

devices.

With a strategic and operational understanding of market, customer and business needs, you

ensure UX / UI alignment to the business and product strategy. A key part of this role is to

deepen the understanding of our customers across the whole team, providing insights that

shape business decisions.

Ideally you will be accustomed to working in agile, scrum organised product teams working

directly with a team of product managers on the product pipeline, supporting user tests and

steering the product experience to achieve its commercial goals.

This role involves working closely with front-end and back-end developers, product owners and

product managers, leveraging your knowledge and experience to design solutions which meet

the needs of our end users.

The role will shape and lead the design practice within Axi, in collaboration and partnership

with key technology and business functions across the company.

Responsibilities :

• Designing world-class digital experiences and interfaces for devices, mobile apps and connected digital platforms.
• Designing and facilitating client workshops, user testing, and brainstorming sessions to establish a shared vision and elicit design requirements, solving real customer problems.
• Lead research and development studies including (but not limited to) user tests, customer and staff interviews, A / B tests, market and product research.
• Shape and drive UI / UX best practice across the product and design function.
• Supporting early stage development of new concepts and client experiences, whilst driving the lifecycle needs within the team.
• Working within diverse, multi-disciplinary team to conceptualise, prototype and test potential designs.
• Advocating for the user experience and championing human centred design methodologies
• Contribute, collaborate and communicate effectively in an autonomous team environment, empowered to make effective decisions that result in achieving our business and customer goals.
• Manage a team of designers located in different geographies to deliver the best in class
• Build a cadence with the team, cascading best practises whilst coaching and mentoring the team to success.
• Lead the design process and develop best in class procedures to support a collaborative and innovative team.
• Take a user centric design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs.
• Design and test new products based on consumer insight and a deep understanding of technology, the market landscape and business objectives.
• Ensure that all products are designed to our brand standards and quality guidelines.
• Promote excellent cross-functional communication between the product management team and senior stakeholders.
