Located in the heart of the Tanjong Pagar Art District, INSTINC is Singapore's premier artist-run gallery space. We are dedicated to fostering contemporary art through dynamic exhibitions, engaging programs, and direct collaboration with a diverse community of local and international artists. We are looking for a passionate and organized individual to become the operational heart of our gallery.

The Role This is a dynamic, dual-function role that combines gallery management with direct artist assistance. You will be responsible for the entire exhibition lifecycle, from initial concept to final sale, while also providing crucial support to our resident artist. This position is perfect for a self-starter who thrives in a creative environment and is eager to take ownership of a wide range of responsibilities.

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)

  • Exhibition & Gallery Management : Drive the conceptualization, planning, and execution of exhibitions and talks.

Manage all gallery logistics, including artwork installation, lighting, and maintenance of inventory and equipment.

Ensure the gallery is professionally presented and welcoming to all visitors.

Support the seamless execution of programs, including artist talks, workshops, and opening nights.

  • Marketing & Communications : Execute a social media strategy for Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms to promote gallery activities and artists.

    • Create engaging content (visuals and copy), using tools like Canva.

    Act as a key point of contact for PR, artists, and visitors, embodying the gallery's professional and creative spirit.

  • Sales & Administration : Manage all administrative aspects of art sales, from preparing price lists and exhibition labels to drafting invoices and agreements.

    • Maintain and meticulously organize the database of clients, contacts, and collectors.

  • Artist Support : Oversee the artist's digital presence, including their personal website and artwork inventory site.

    • Coordinate the professional photo-documentation of all new artworks.

    Provide hands-on assistance to the artist in their studio when needed.

    Who You Are (Qualifications & Attributes)

  • You have a deep and demonstrable passion for the contemporary art world.
  • You are exceptionally organized, resourceful, and capable of managing multiple projects independently.
  • You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable engaging with artists, collectors, and the public.
  • You are digitally savvy, with proven experience managing social media platforms for a brand or organization.
  • You maintain a high level of professionalism in your work and appearance.
  • Bonus Points : Experience in marketing, PR, or graphic design (Canva, Adobe Suite) is highly valued.
  • Singaporeans and / or PR preferred.

    • Work Schedule & Location

  • Schedule : 5-day week (Wednesday to Sunday).
  • Hours : Wed - Fri : 11 : 00 AM - 7 : 00 PM (with a 1-hour lunch break).

    • Sat & Sun : 1 : 00 PM - 6 : 00 PM.

    Flexibility required for evening hours during exhibition openings. (Wed / Thurs / Fri) 1 : 00 PM - 9 : 00PM.
