As a Senior Software Engineer in the Core Engineering team, you will be responsible for building applications that run in the cloud or data centre to support web and mobile apps. You will use engineering best practices to ensure high-quality applications that meet development standards. The primary programming language is Java, with specialized services in JavaScript, Golang, Python, etc. You should have a good understanding of building cloud-native applications on Kubernetes.

You will implement service approaches supporting data models using synchronous and asynchronous techniques, and understand resource optimization and concurrency. You may also work on transforming legacy systems (e.g., SOAP, XML-HTTP, Struts) into cloud-native applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop high-performance Java Service APIs and business systems
• Use SpringBoot to build microservices in Java
• Work with AWS services (SQS, SNS, SES, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, etc.) to optimize applications
• Contribute to Java libraries, SDKs, and frameworks
• Design database schemas and technical architecture
• Maintain high-quality codebases following best practices
• Mentor junior engineers
