Roles & Responsibilities

Working as an integral part of our small dynamic team, this role’s primary responsibility is for the accurate reporting of business transactions and information that will facilitate planning decisions for the organisation. You will also complete the end-to-end process of reconciliation of all finance information from the group through to the preparation of the monthly / yearly management reports. This is an autonomous role and will suit someone who is a self-motivated and has the ability to manage tasks and priorities accordingly.

Accountability & Core Activities :

Month / Year end financial reporting :

  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Provide technical support and advice on management accounting.
  • Produce accurate and error-free accounting reports and present results.
  • Participate in financial standards setting and forecasting processes.
  • Ensure monthly balance sheet reconciliations with substantiated major balances and appropriate work papers.
  • Prepare weekly cash flow reports.
  • Responsible for monthly performance pack preparation and reporting to Management, Audit & Compliance Committee, and Board.
  • Maintain accounting controls by developing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Ensure upkeep of KPI dashboards.
  • Undertake ad-hoc projects and conduct further business analysis.
  • Handle MAS, ACRA, and IRAS reporting.
  • Manage Financial accountants based in the Philippines.

Tax compliance :

  • Ensure the group remains fully compliant and up to date with all GST, BAS, Payroll Tax, FBT, and PAYG obligations.
  • Provide support in the preparation of tax returns and assist in managing tax audits and related inquiries.
  • Payroll :

  • Manage the end-to-end monthly payroll process for both Australia and Singapore offices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local regulations.
  • AP / AR :

  • Perform accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of payments and receipts while actively managing aging reports to support working capital requirements.
  • Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Audit :

  • Oversee and coordinate external audits to ensure full compliance with regulatory and financial reporting standards.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Coordinate the preparation of audit schedules and gather supporting documentation to facilitate efficient year-end audit processes.
  • Support both external and internal auditors by promptly addressing audit requests, questions, and inquiries.
  • Continuous Improvement :

  • Always have mind set of challenging current norms and question why we do things the way we do. Can we improve on what we are currently doing?
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • The Successful Applicant :

  • Singaporean / Singapore PR only
  • CA / ACCA / CPA qualified
  • Minimum of 4 to 5 years' experience in an accounting role.
  • Proven experience as an accounting supervisor, chief or senior accountant.
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
  • Familiarity with financial accounting statements.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end / year-end close process.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like Xero, MYOB, Data Dear, Fathom etc.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
  • Financial services experience an added advantage.
  • Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience :

  • Strong interpersonal skills – both verbal and written.
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently towards goals in a complex / diverse environment with multiple and changing demands.
  • High level of organisational skills.
  • Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience :

  • Previous experience in similar industry is highly desirable.
