Roles & Responsibilities
Job Description
1. Communicate constantly with team members, customers and brokers from the target region to secure voyage and T / C business for basin (Pacific or Atlantic).
2. Manage information flows and external communications with market participants directly and through the team.
3. Identify, own and communicate new trends, cargo routes, mines, processing locations, potential new customers and cargo sources / destinations – and direct resources to secure business.
4. Calculate on open market business voyage and / or T / C basis. Develop and manage the cargo book (spot and COA) within the guidelines set by GM.
5. Develop and expand relationships with cargo customers and brokers directly and through the team resource for on and off market fixing / cargo opportunities.
6. Manage, identify, own and develop regional ‘operating targets’ for third party business
7. Identify, develop, manage and execute arbitrage opportunities which can add value to the book / P&L
8. Communicate with the chartering and operations department / team to ensure a smooth operation of all voyages / TCTs maximising revenue and profit.
Requirements
1. Degree or Above (Majoring Transport, Shipping, Logistics, Shipping law or equivalent)
2. Min 5 years chartering experience in dry bulk shipping(ideally with previous operations experience), and a full understanding of shipoperator business. Please submit a CV together with a personal fixture list if available.
