Job descriptionConduct thorough clinical behavioural assessments and consultations, including medical evaluations. Identify underlying causes of behavioural issues, such as medical conditions, environmental factors, or learned behaviours. Develop individualized behaviour modification plans and treatment protocols. When appropriate and diagnosed, prescribe and manage medications to support behaviour therapy. Educate pet owners on implementing necessary intervention to address behavioural challenges. Provide clear communication and training to pet owners about behaviour management techniques. Deliver ongoing support and follow-up to monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed. Train, veterinary behaviourist residents and other veterinary staff on behavioural issues, safe handling techniques, and early intervention strategies. When available, to organize workshops, seminars, or webinars for clients. Stay updated on the latest research in animal behaviour and veterinary science. Maintain accurate and detailed medical and behavioural records for all cases. Specialization : Board certification from the American College of Veterinary Behaviourists (ACVB) or European College of Animal Welfare and Behavioural Medicine or equivalent credential. Experience : Prior experience in veterinary behaviour consulting, or related roles. Salary Range : Competitive and commensurate with experience.
