Job Summary :
The Assistant Finance Manager supports the Finance Manager in overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance. This role plays a critical part in maintaining financial discipline, supporting business decision-making, and improving financial processes across multiple outlets, central kitchen, and corporate office.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Financial Reporting & Month-End Closing
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage month-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of P&L by outlet and business segment.
2. Budgeting & Forecasting
Support the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.Track actuals vs. budget, investigate variances, and provide analysis to management.Collaborate with departments to gather budget inputs and provide financial guidance.3. Cost Management
Monitor and analyse key cost components including COGS, labour costs, and overheads.Support cost control initiatives and conduct regular reviews with operations and procurement teams.Assist in inventory analysis and variance investigation, particularly for food and beverage cost.4. Audit & Compliance
Liaise with external auditors during annual audits and ensure proper documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements.Ensure proper implementation of internal controls and compliance with financial policies and procedures.Review tax submissions and support GST and corporate tax filings.5. Systems & Process Improvements
Assist in the enhancement of financial systems and processes for efficiency and accuracy.Support finance digitalisation initiatives and ERP system implementation / enhancement.Prepare financial reports and dashboards for management decision-making.Requirements :
Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline.At least 4-6 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting, preferably in the F&B or retail industry.CPA / ACCA or pursuing certification is preferred.Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial software (e.g., Navision, SAP, Xero, or similar).Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
