Job Summary :

The Assistant Finance Manager supports the Finance Manager in overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance. This role plays a critical part in maintaining financial discipline, supporting business decision-making, and improving financial processes across multiple outlets, central kitchen, and corporate office.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Financial Reporting & Month-End Closing

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage month-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of P&L by outlet and business segment.

2. Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Support the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Track actuals vs. budget, investigate variances, and provide analysis to management.
  • Collaborate with departments to gather budget inputs and provide financial guidance.
  • 3. Cost Management

  • Monitor and analyse key cost components including COGS, labour costs, and overheads.
  • Support cost control initiatives and conduct regular reviews with operations and procurement teams.
  • Assist in inventory analysis and variance investigation, particularly for food and beverage cost.
  • 4. Audit & Compliance

  • Liaise with external auditors during annual audits and ensure proper documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure proper implementation of internal controls and compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Review tax submissions and support GST and corporate tax filings.
  • 5. Systems & Process Improvements

  • Assist in the enhancement of financial systems and processes for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support finance digitalisation initiatives and ERP system implementation / enhancement.
  • Prepare financial reports and dashboards for management decision-making.
  • Requirements :

  • Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • At least 4-6 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting, preferably in the F&B or retail industry.
  • CPA / ACCA or pursuing certification is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial software (e.g., Navision, SAP, Xero, or similar).
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
