Vita Singapore is currently searching for an experienced Project Director to join the Project Management & Construction team responsible for the build and delivery of a range of projects.

Vita Partners is the Asia-Pacific’s largest pan-regional pure-play life science, innovation and R&D real estate platform. The platform focuses on investing, acquiring, developing, constructing, managing, and operating real estate projects in fast-growing life sciences, innovation and R&D real estate markets in Asia-Pacific. The company operates within two main segments – a high-barrier-to-entry life sciences project construction management business and a specialized investment management business. Since the 2000s, the project construction management business has worked on over 200 projects in Asia-Pacific for more than 100 blue-chip life sciences and pharmaceutical companies, with many repeat clients.

You will be the overall leader of the construction team and take accountability for successful delivery of the project from a Safety, Quality, Time and Cost perspective.

Key Responsibilities

Accountable for the entire project lifecycle, including successful safe and quality delivery through thorough planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out.
Oversees all functions : engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning.
Manages project budget, schedule, and client expectations.
Overall EH&S leader and taking responsibility for the team’s EH&S performance, driving an un-compromising culture of safety and quality throughout the project workforce and lead by example.
Work with the Client to develop the project execution strategy and provide leadership and guidance to the project team in delivering the project in accordance with the execution strategy
Liaises with senior stakeholders, clients, and executive management, ensuring project aligns with strategic goalsof the company.
Overall responsibility for delivering a facility of high quality and ensuring the final product meets or exceeds the requirements set out in the design drawings, specifications, procedures
Implementation of the project procurement strategy, work in conjunction with Commercial Manager on budgets and cost reporting procedures of project
Drive a strong quality culture within the team to take a ‘right first time’ mindset to prevent rather than rectify defects and NCR’s
Successful project delivery in accordance with all key Head Contract milestones.

To Be Successful You Will Need

Strong leadership skills and proven experience leading large multi-national and multi-cultural project teams.

Proven experience in the delivery of Life Sciences, and pharmaceutical construction projects.

Bring a high regard for Environmental Health, Safety & Quality culture and practice.

Exceptional planning, organising and analytical skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively on tight deadlines.

Good interpersonal and collaborative skills to prepare reports, negotiate, build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

Education & Experience

Recognized Degree in Building, Construction Management, Engineering (Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical), Architecture or related disciplines

Min. 15 years’ experience in leading and delivering successful large-scale Greenfield / Brownfield GMP projects for tier-1 life sciences clients across entire project lifecycle

Ability to manage multi-discipline design and construction teams

Ability to promote an open and informal communication environment that aims at growing mutual trust and teamwork

Experience of working in a multi-culture, international environment
