Underwiting Manager (Marine)

We are seeking a seasoned insurance professional to join our client as a Senior Underwriter specializing in Marine Hull coverage. This role involves evaluating and underwriting complex commercial marine risks across diverse Asian markets, while fostering strong broker relationships and ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.

Responsibilities

• Assess and underwrite Marine Hull insurance for large-scale and intricate commercial ventures throughout Asia.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with insurance brokers, ensuring effective communication and coordination between internal departments and external stakeholders.
• Manage a designated portfolio of accounts, negotiating terms and conditions to align with company objectives.
• Handle underwriting decisions within delegated authority, escalating cases as needed for senior review, and ensuring alignment with corporate risk appetite and capacity.
• Evaluate individual submissions and provide well-supported recommendations for cases exceeding personal authority.
• Deliver accurate and timely policy documentation to clients and intermediaries.
• Oversee transaction processing, guiding support teams to ensure prompt and precise data entry and policy issuance.
• Uphold internal control standards, particularly those related to financial reporting (ICOFR).
• Ensure full adherence to applicable laws, regulatory requirements, and internal governance frameworks.
• Continuously enhance technical knowledge and underwriting expertise to support performance goals and key performance indicators (KPIs).
