XoL Underwriter for Multinationals - APAC

Allianz Trade for Multinationals (AZTMNC) is looking for an Underwriter the XoL team. This position is based in Singapore.

Role :

Develop XoL new business and service existing XoL clients whilst maintaining sound Commercial and Risk underwriting standards. Contribute to the development of the XoL product within the APAC region.

Main tasks :

New business :
develop good relationships with brokers and APAC Sales Force to generate new business enquiries
Underwriting and pricing of new business enquiries using the XoL pricing model as well as market knowledge
Credit Limit underwriting for precheck
Account Management :
Servicing and renewal of existing portfolio of policies : regular meetings with insured, brokers and co-insurers;
Drafting wordings and endorsements
Credit limits underwriting
Structuring and pricing of renewal terms
Monitoring of overdue report
Risk Underwriting :
Deciding on credit limit requests promptly and consistently :
Using information available in IRP and market knowledge
monitoring risk exposure, trade sector evolution and action plans
requesting further information from Risk office
Working with internal stakeholders with a view to provide the best service to XoL clients and prospects :
Writing credit limit recommenations to be submitted to the Regional Risk Director
Writing new business and renew terms recommendations to GMMCD
Liaising with local risk offices for risks to be regraded / recommendations to be obtained.

Ability to balance commercial interests and strict standards regarding quality of portfolio when structuring terms, price, conditions and credit limits underwriting;

Ability to justify decisions both internally and externally;

Ability to understand and underwrite complex structures;

Ability to build strong relationships with clients, brokers and internal stakeholders

Knowledge / Experiences / Competencies required :

Market knowledge :

knowledge in dedicated business industries

Business expertise :

ability to structure solutions when faced with a business case

strong business / finance assessment skills

knowledge and experience of underwriting

demonstrates commercial awareness

Interpersonal skills :

good communicator and able to convince about all decisions taken

ability to hold visits and contacts, including difficult meetings with senior stakeholders;
