Job description

As a member of the Product Planning team, you will play a key role in driving our strategic and tactical plans with our device vendor partners. You will be responsible for developing and implementing programs to increase device sales at an appropriate level of profitability. This role requires a combination of commercial acumen, market knowledge, negotiation skills and stakeholder management to develop product strategies that align with our objectives. The role reports to the Team Lead (Product Planning).

Key Responsibilities :

  • Price Management : Set device pricing across all M1 price plans, based on market dynamics, competitive pricing, and product positioning. Monitor pricing trends and adjust strategies as needed to maximize profitability and device sales.
  • Inventory Management : Maintain effective inventory management practices to optimize product availability, minimize carrying costs, reduce excess inventory and minimize obsolescence. Work closely with logistics teams and vendors to ensure efficient inventory planning, forecasting, and replenishment processes.
  • Vendor Management : Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers for sourcing handsets and other devices. Negotiate pricing contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure favorable agreements that meet our commercial objectives. Partner with M1 finance to ensure an effective process for claims processing and invoice payments.
  • Stakeholder management : Partner with internal stakeholders across business divisions and segment teams to communicate product plans & strategies and tailor marketing offers for optimal commercial outcome. Present findings, recommendations, and progress updates in a clear and concise manner.
  • Market & Competitive Analysis : Monitor competitor activities and market dynamics to identify threats and opportunities, especially in the realm of handsets and devices. Benchmark our product pricing against competitors and develop strategies to gain revenue market share.
  • Product Roadmap and Strategy : Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Digital office, engineering, marketing, and finance to define product roadmaps and pre-order launches of flagship devices based on market demand and business priorities.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or related field
  • Up to 10 years' experience in product management, with a focus on handsets and devices.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, draw insights, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and product management tools
