Technical Sales Manager (Lubricant Additives)

Job Purpose

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Technical Sales Manager with in-depth knowledge of lubricant additives to join our growing team. This role combines technical expertise with strategic sales leadership to drive business growth across existing and prospective customers in the lubricant and oil additive markets.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and providing technical solutions to meet client requirements, ensuring alignment with both commercial and technical objectives.

Job Highlights

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in the lubricant additives market.
  • Achieve sales targets and expand the customer base across designated territories.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and competitor activity.

Customer Relationship Management :

  • Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and key accounts.
  • Provide technical support and guidance during product trials, formulation, and implementation phases.
  • Act as the primary liaison between customers and internal technical / R&D teams.
  • Technical Expertise :

  • Understand customer applications and provide tailored additive solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in lubricant technologies and regulatory requirements (e.g., REACH, OEM standards).
  • Deliver technical presentations, product training, and detailed proposals to customers.
  • Work closely with marketing, R&D, and product management teams to align offerings with market needs.
  • Support product development through customer feedback and application insights.
  • Reporting & Forecasting :

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, forecasts, and customer interactions in CRM systems.
  • Provide regular updates to management on pipeline development and market dynamics.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering , or related technical field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in technical sales or business development in the lubricant additives , base oils, or chemical industry.
  • Strong understanding of lubricant formulations and additive technologies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and travel as required.
  • Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with OEMs and industrial clients.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (API, ILSAC, ACEA, ASTM).
  • Multilingual skills are a plus.
  • Proficient with CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
