We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join our legal team — a seasoned and execution-focused professional with strong cross-border legal experience. This role sits just below partner level and is ideal for a sharp, pragmatic legal mind who thrives on rolling up their sleeves to get things done. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of top-tier law firm training and in-house (buy-side) commercial acumen, with full fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English.

Key Responsibilities :

Provide hands-on legal advice on a wide range of commercial, corporate, and transactional matters across multiple jurisdictions.
Draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements including licensing, M&A, joint ventures, financing, and strategic partnerships.
Work closely with internal business teams (product, finance, commercial, and executive) to align legal risk with business strategy.
Conduct legal due diligence and assess regulatory and compliance risks related to deals and partnerships.
Liaise with external counsel and stakeholders as needed on cross-border issues.
Manage legal documentation and ensure the company operates within the bounds of relevant laws and regulations, especially in key jurisdictions such as China and the U.S.

Key Requirements :

Qualified lawyer, with strong academic credentials and legal education in the U.S. (J.D. or equivalent).

Native-level fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English (spoken and written) is essential.

A minimum of 8–12 years of post-qualification experience, including :

Experience at a top-tier international law firm (preferred at senior associate or counsel level).

In-house legal experience at a buy-side or investment-driven company, such as in private equity, VC, or multinational corporate environments.

Experience working in a large internet or gaming company will be considered a strong plus.
