The lab of RNA in Disease and Translational Technologies at the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, A
The work will involve molecular biology (RNA design, in vitro transcription, cell-free RNA assays, RT-qPCR, molecular cloning), cell biology (cell culture, cell transfection, flow cytometry, antisense oligonucleotides and RNAi, CRISPR). Experience and interest in bioinformatics is preferred but not required.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Neuroscience or a related discipline. The successful candidate will have strong expertise in RNA biology, cell biology, biochemistry and molecular biology techniques, a strong publication record that includes a first author research paper, and strong scientific writing skills. They will be creative, highly motivated, conscientious and be able to work independently, with good organisational, verbal and interpersonal skills. Our lab is collaborative and interdisciplinary and the successful candidate should be able to work effectively and harmoniously in a diverse team. As a Research Fellow, they will also be expected to mentor and train students and Research Officers.
