Job Responsibilities :
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the company's IT functions, ensuring smooth operations across onshore and offshore environments. Key responsibilities include :
- Align IT initiatives with business objectives and strategic goals.
- Provide daily IT operations and disaster recovery processes.
- Ensure optimal returns on IT investments by applying industry best practices across systems, networks, and communications.
- Manage, maintain, and support server and network infrastructure, including :
Setup and maintenance of servers, storage, and network equipment
Backup and data recovery operationsAntivirus updates and patch managementSoftware licensing and hardware inventory upkeepDaily monitoring of server logs and issue pre-emptionEnforce processes and standards for the installation and maintenance of desktop systems, servers, applications, and email platforms.Manage, create, and troubleshoot user mailboxes.Maintain the web server and update web content as required.Support business continuity and recovery plans in the event of system disruptions.Provide IT help desk support to office staff and crew onboard vessels.Develop, review, and implement IT policies and procedures.Ensure physical and cyber security policies are in place and enforced.Develop and maintain IT documentation and operating procedures.Evaluate and recommend IT equipment and services, liaising with vendors for procurement.Propose technical solutions that align with both immediate and long-term business needs, ensuring compliance with technical and security standards.Perform other duties as assigned by the Head, Technical Specialist (Cable)Support project implementations when required.Escalate complex issues to senior team members when necessary.Maintain accurate IT asset inventory (hardware and software).Oversee IT procurement processes.Attend to vessel IT issues when vessels are in port (Singapore).Job Requirements :
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related fieldsAt least 5 years of relevant experience in managing IT infrastructure, network services, and IT securityITIL Foundation and CCNA certification preferredStrong knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments (including servers, Exchange, and Office Suite)Familiarity with maritime satellite communication systems (e.g., VSAT, FBB, Iridium) is an advantageStrong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skillsAbility to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently in a fast-paced environmentHighly organized with attention to detail
