It was the largest insurance deal in Singapore at the time. Singlife was subsequently acquired by Sumitomo Life in March 2024, one of Japan’s leading life insurers, which valued Singlife at S$4.6 billion, making the transaction one of the largest insurance deals in Southeast Asia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform risk assessment and underwrite life, health, and long-term care insurance applications and preliminary underwriting enquiries in accordance with Singlife’s philosophy, risk culture and guidelines and within the agreed TAT.
  • Maintain high level of service quality for a positive customer experience and achieve Net Promoter Score. Provide any necessary support to Distribution channels and maintain positive relationship with partner firms.
  • Support ad hoc projects and tasks in relation to strengthen underwriting quality control, governance, customer experience, efficiency gain & automation etc.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and risk management controls, corporate policies, procedures, and underwriting guidelines.

Requirements

  • Minimally 4-5 years life & health underwriting experience, with Life underwriting authority limit of S$1.5Mil.
  • Demonstrate strong collaboration, organizational, communication, analytics & problem-solving skills. Adopt human-centered mindset prioritizing superior customer experience in the course of work.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to dynamic, fast-paced environment and make sound decisions quickly while demonstrating flexibility and personal accountability.
