My client is a leading global organisation undergoing a major modernisation of their QA and automation function. They are looking for a hands‑on Senior Automation Engineer to drive automation across large‑scale, business‑critical systems that support their core operations.
This role sits within the QA team and reports to the QA Manager.
You will work closely with developers, DevOps, and business stakeholders to strengthen automation coverage, improve release reliability, and integrate testing into CI / CD workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement test automation frameworks for UI, API, and end‑to‑end regression testing
- Build automation frameworks from scratch using open‑source tools such as Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium
- Integrate test automation into CI / CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps)
- Refactor and migrate legacy UFT automation into modern frameworks
- Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to embed testing within build and deployment pipelines
- Coach QA and manual testers to adopt automation practices and improve overall QA maturity
Requirements
At least 8 years of hands‑on experience in test automation within enterprise environmentsStrong coding skills in Java, JavaScript, or PythonProven experience building and maintaining automation frameworks from scratchPractical exposure to CI / CD tools, containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), and version control systemsExperience testing across both UI and API layersStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and business teamsExposure to UFT, SmartBear, LoadNinja, or TestComplete is an advantageWhy this role
