Software Engineer (Platform Acceleration)

Roles & Responsibilities

A high-growth regional AI start-up is hiring a Software Engineer to help scale its core product. You’ll work close to product, designing APIs, shaping architecture, and shipping features end-to-end, while building the platform foundations that make delivery safer, faster, and more predictable.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain product features that run reliably at scale

• Develop shared services, APIs and libraries used across engineering teams

• Improve CI/CD pipelines, feature flags and canary rollouts to enable rapid, safe releases

• Strengthen reliability with testing, instrumentation and clear SLIs/SLOs

• Partner with engineers across the stack to optimise performance and fault tolerance

• Automate operational work and refine abstractions that slow delivery

Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals (clean code, testing, reviews, documentation)

• Proficiency in at least one modern language and web framework; comfortable designing APIs

• Practical experience with containers and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., GCP/AWS) and infrastructure-as-code practices

• Hands-on with observability (metrics, logs, tracing) and incident response

• Working knowledge of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL)

• Bonus: experience with Ruby on Rails or similar frameworks
