Job descriptionMinimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Preferably 3 years of relevant work experience. Candidates with lesser experience will be considered on a case-by-case basic Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent). Good knowledge of sheet metal design and manufacturing methods. Understanding of LV switchgear components, busbar arrangements, and enclosure design. Knowledge of relevant industry standards (IEC, UL, ISO). Good problem-solving and project management skills. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsibilities & Duties
- Design and develop mechanical layouts for LV switchboards using 2D and 3D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards (e.g., IEC 61439, UL 891) and internal engineering specifications.
- Select and integrate mechanical components such as enclosures, busbar systems, hinges, and fasteners.
- Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM), detailed drawings, and technical documentation.
- Work closely with electrical engineers to ensure mechanical and electrical integration.
- Support production and assembly teams by resolving technical issues and optimizing design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Collaborate with suppliers and procurement teams to source appropriate materials and components.
- Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and quality checks throughout the product lifecycle.
- Provide technical support during testing, commissioning, and customer inspection processes.
