Why this role?
Safety Specialist supports business in the improvement of safety management, understanding and performance within their organizational responsibility area. They work with the global / area / unit teams to implement, maintain and continually improve KONE Way for Safety.
What will you be doing?
Safety policy and objectives
- Support the implementation, maintenance and improvement of KONE safety management system (operating model) including worker, user and third party safety
- Cultivate an understanding and actively caring culture for safety. Act as a role model
- Compile, maintain and improve safety documentation together with the unit safety team
- Actively participate in and contribute to unit safety committee and other safety forums
- Provide professional advice and support to the unit on matters affecting safety
- Plan, participate in and implement projects and activities to improve safety
- Work closely with customers and partners, including KONE subcontractors
- Support the development, review and exercise of crisis and emergency response plans
Safety risk management
Monitor and develop safety risk management processes, tools and practicesSupport safety related change management projects and initiativesSafety assurance
Collect, measure and ensure accuracy of leading and lagging safety data. Report performanceMonitor legal and business environment development in safety, identify and propose actionsPerform safety audits regularly to verify compliance, identify uncontrolled risks and deviationsAssist line management in safety audits / visits and support the audit process improvementAnalyze and investigate incidents. Support the investigation process improvementManage corrective and preventive actions for continual improvementSafety promotion
Develop own competences as a safety specialist in co-operation with the managerSupport the training and development of others’ safety competences in the unitProactively communicate safety information including investigation outcomes and best practicesAre you the one?
Recognized professional qualification in safety.Registered as WSH Officer with MOM for at least 10 years preferred.Minimum 10 years working experience in the building construction industry preferred.Good knowledge of applicable safety regulationsSafety management system, tools and certifications experienceProblem solving, incident management, auditing and analysis skillsPeople management, training and communication skillsStrong people and interpersonal skillsAbility to work well in digital and mobile environmentProject and change management skillsBachelor degree or equivalent experience in relevant fieldMRT and LTA project experience preferred.What do we offer?
