What the role is]
This role leads a small team to chart the communications strategy for IMDA’s policy and programmes. He / she will develop messaging, communications plans, strategies and impactful campaigns and outreach for IMDA’s initiatives. This includes managing relations with media, internal and external stakeholders, and spearheading issues management for IMDA’s initiatives to prevent online harms and enhance online safety.

What you will be working on :
- Partner divisions to understand divisions’ priorities and effectively develop and implement communications plans, and media materials, specific to our work around online harms and online safety.
- Pitch and manage media engagement and interviews for principals overseeing online harms and online safety.
- Oversee all aspects of media management work, including media briefings, materials, media pitches and interview requests, as well as talking points for speaking engagement and speeches
- Coordinate efforts with other agencies, ministries, licensees where required
- Develop audience awareness for IMDA’s policy, programmes and initiatives
- Execute IMDA’s crisis communications plans for unplanned scenarios
- Work closely with various teams to harmonise plans and messaging with intended audience
- Understand the divisions’ priorities to effectively design integrated campaigns across multiple channels to meet programme targets and deliverables (includes print, digital, social, activations, partnerships and sponsorships)
- Use analytics and social listening tools to measure effectiveness of campaigns, inform policies and initiatives, as well as nudge behavioural change.
- Work with QSM team on managing public queries and feedback
Job Requirements :
Background in Public relations / Communications / Journalism or a related disciplineAt least 12-15 years of relevant experience in Journalism, Public Relations, Government Comms including 6-8 years in a supervisory role and / or managingExcellent media relations, written and spoken communication skills, with strong ability to nuance sensitive messaging.Experience working with and pitching to reporters from tech, social / lifestyle manpower and business beats across media platforms.Highly driven and energetic, able to thrive and deliver results in fast-paced working environmentStrong project management and analytical skills, able to follow through on projects in a timely mannerExperience with managing 3rd party agencies / vendors / suppliersGood communications and interpersonal skills, adept at engaging external and internal stakeholders, including multi-agency and cross-functional teamsAbility to understand business units’ needs and translate these needs into impactful communications plansAdept at collaborating and managing multiple stakeholders internally and externally, including media, creative and digital agencies.Strong understanding of martech tech stacks and experienced in digital-led marcoms campaigns. Familiarity with web analytics tools for data-driven measurement of campaigns.Good writing and presentation skillsAbility to work well independently while being a strong team playerCuriosity and interest in the tech and media industryWhat we are looking for]
