Key responsibilities

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to oversee Security and Business Continuity (SBC) for Maersk's operations in Asia. In this role, you will be a member of the regional function Leadership Team, driving the global strategy and cascading it effectively to regional and local level, ensuring alignment with Maersk’s overarching business objectives.

This role demands a seasoned professional with exceptional leadership skills, strategic acumen, and the ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity while achieving measurable results. As a member of the leadership team, you will actively engage in sparring with senior stakeholders to shape and influence strategic decisions. You will lead by example, demonstrating exceptional leadership in managing cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, and driving impactful Security and Business Continuity initiatives.

Acting as the senior leader for security and business continuity, you will manage a team of four professionals and ensure robust compliance with customer requirements, external regulations, and internal frameworks, while providing regular updates to executive leadership on business resilience metrics.

Key responsibilities include :

Strategic Leadership

Drive the development and executionof the global Security strategy (Predict, Prevent, Respond, Recover), ensuring seamless implementation across regional and country teams.

Lead a team of four seasoned Security and Business Continuity professionals.

Provide expert guidance on Security and Business Continuity, effectively communicating with and influencing senior leadership to align strategies with broader organizational goals.

Build and nurture strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, fostering trust and collaboration to advance Security and Business Continuity priorities.

Security Management

Oversee the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of security measures in compliance with corporate policies and programs.

Gather security risk insight and intelligence to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential risks across Maersk’s Asia supply chains.

Lead foresight assessments to anticipate and address emerging business threats and risks, ensuring preparedness through robust security response and contingency planning.

Spearhead efforts to counter illicit cargo and contraband in partnership with the Special Operations team.

Business Continuity Management

Direct all aspects of the Business Continuity lifecycle, including Business Impact Analysis, plan development, and regular testing to ensure operational resilience.

Provide expert advisory support during disruptions to minimize impact, offering strategic and tactical guidance to stakeholders at all levels.

Crisis Management

Lead the implementation and maintenance of an effective Crisis Management framework, enabling timely and effective responses to disruptions and crises.

Oversee the management of Level 2 crisis incidents in Asia Pacific, ensuring swift escalation, resolution, and communication to protect business operations and reputation.

Capability Building and Governance

Develop and implement comprehensive training, mentoring, and upskilling initiatives to enhance organizational capabilities in security, business continuity, and crisis management.

Develop and implement an effective security audit program to ensure compliance with relevant frameworks, policies, and regulations, driving a culture of accountability and continuous improvement across the organization.

We’re looking for

8+ yearsof experience in Security Management in the Asia Pacific region

Strong and proven leadership and engagement

Experiencein Business Continuity Management & Crisis Management is an advantage

Industry experience inlogisticsis preferable, but not mandatory

Advanced degree in Security or Risk Management.

Ability to navigate in a complex matrix organisation
