Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of assigned
vessels.
Supervise cargo loading and
discharging to ensure safe and efficient execution.
Provide the Master with guidance and updates on cargo,
port calls, routing, and other operational matters.
Appoint agents and protective agents when necessary, and
review / approve proforma and final PDAs.
Coordinate with agents on vessel arrivals, departures,
berthing, and unberthing.
Support the Master
in preparing for on-hire and off-hire formalities.
Monitor vessel consumption of fuel oil and freshwater,
arranging replenishment as required.
Share
operational updates (berthing schedules, cargo operations,
departure status, bunkers, cargo hold condition) with the
Chartering Manager.
Track redelivery notices
from charterers and issue delivery notices to subsequent
charterers.
Arrange joint on-hire / off-hire
surveys with current and next charterers.
Liaise with insurers and P&I Clubs on coverage,
claims, and inspections.
Handle charter party
disputes, including performance claims and contractual
issues.
Coordinate pre-loading inspections of
steel and other sensitive cargoes with P&I Clubs.
Collaborate with charterers and managers on vessel
passages through high-risk areas, including security deployment and
insurance.
Prepare freight and hire invoices,
monitor receipts, follow up on collections, and reconcile
balances.
Calculate laytime and finalize
demurrage / dispatch
settlements.
Requirements
Degree or higher qualification in a relevant
field.
At least 3 years of experience with Dry
Bulk Carriers.
Prior experience in a
shipowning company is preferred.
Strong skills
in analysis, planning, project coordination, and time
management.
Proven ability to uphold high
standards of quality and cost efficiency.
Solid decision-making and problem-solving
abilities.
Organized with excellent
communication skills across all
levels.
